Welcome to issue 10 of Talk of the Turnstile
A weekend fuelled with two massive derby games, and Rooney sees red.
The Merseyside derby is always a great spectacle for the fans and neutrals, both clubs haven’t started the way they would have liked, and the form guide generally goes out the window in a game like this. With bragging rights at stake, the blue half of Liverpool will definitely have gone home the happier from this one. With the reds one up and the clock ticking, Phil Jagielka scored an absolute screamer in the 91st minute to draw the sides level. A possible goal of the season contender? Perhaps. The draw leaves both clubs in the bottom half of the table.
Fast forward to 5:15pm Saturday, and the North London derby is set to take place, and for all the hype from the previous derbies, (5-2, 4-4 scorelines etc) this one finished one a piece. A Chadli goal could easily have given Spurs all the three points, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain evened the scores and the game finished 1-1.
Wayne Rooney saw red last weekend, his first for United since 2009 and all of a sudden people say he is a bad captain? I seem to remember Roy Keane getting sent off rather a lot and nobody complained then? Regardless, Rooney will not feature for United at all in October and will return to the first team in November. Juan Mata take note, this is your time to prove you should start as a number 10.
The SoccerStarz Premiership standings.
So New York Yankees top the SoccerStarz Premiership yet again. Hugh Or? are down to third place whilst Lunatic Attack Force stay in second.
Just a note on Guess the Scores, we have had a fair amount of questions on it lately. We have no date set for when this will return yet, we are still making some big improvements, so we would just like to thank all of you for bearing with us and as soon as we have a release date, you’ll be the first to know.

Here is a reminder of last weeks competition
“If Robin Van Persie scores for Manchester United this weekend we will give away 5 SoccerStarz figures of him.”
Well he did and we had five lucky winners, they were Adam Shovman, Callum Kennedy, Paul Hickey, Paul Skipsey and Andrew Kileen.
This week’s competition will be posted on Monday morning, on our Facebook page so make sure you keep an eye out for that.
Thanks again for reading everyone and we hope you have a great weekend.
