World Round up – November 4th

World Round Up –  this week we shall start in Turkey where Fenerbache needed to come from a goal down to defeat Bursaspor to stay top of the league.

England – Arsenal beat, Liverpool, to go five points clear at the top. Jose Mourinho claims he needs to make ” 11 changes” following their defeat to Newcastle United. Manchester United scored three in the first 22 minutes at Craven Cottage to beat Fulham, whilst Asmir Begovic scored the quickest goal of the current season, in 13 seconds, and yes, he is a goalkeeper. Oh and Manchester put 7-0 past a Norwich City.

Italy – Roma dropped their first points of the season, drawing 1-1 at Torino. It gave both Juventus and Napoli the chance to close the gap. which they duly did.

Spain – Atletico kept pace with the Catalan giants, by winning 2-0 against Athletic Club. Real Madrid also won, beating Real Vallecano. Meanwhile Real Sociedad will enter the game with Manchester United full of confidence following a 5-0 victory over Osasuna.

Germany – Bayern Munich broke the league record for going unbeaten, it has been 36 games since they last tasted Bundesliga defeat. BVB demolished  VFB Stuttgart 6-1, a Leverkusen slipped to defeat at the hands of bottom club Braunschweig.

France – Monaco drop to third position following a loss to Lille, who have now jumped to second. PSG remain top, two points clear.

Portugal – A familar look to the Liga Sagres table, as Porto are top, with Sporting Lisbon second and Benfica third.

Argentina – Newell’s Old Boys have not won in 3 games now, but are still two points clear at the top of the Clausura.

Brazil – Cruzeiro’s lead currently stands at 13 points and it looks increasingly likely that they will be crowned champions this season.
